Orbitz - International Travel Tickets

Orbitz has widely publicized that they don't charge booking fees for buying tickets online on their website BUT I had to find out the hard-way that it does not apply to international flights that originate out of US.

Initially, when you goto www.orbitz.com you see the "No Fees" hanging above the Flights tab. Only, when you have actually selected your itinerary it shows "No Fee Promotion" and if you still haven't figured out, once you hower your mouse over it, the disclaimer pops up.

Orbitz knows that the internation travel originates outside US and so they SHOULD change the "No Fee Promotion" does not apply to "Booking Fees Applies" or something similar.

Flying just got more expensive!!!

I did not budget for this but have been planning on taking 2 weeks off end of this year and travelling international.
I was looking up airline tickets on Orbitz, Kayak, Priceline and Expedia and the price for an individual ticket is high enough that for a family, it must be ultra-expensive....

I decided to hedge future fare prices by booking tickets on Priceline which offered me the best offer and although, it's not an inexpensive deal I don't think I'll be paying less anytime during the rest of this year if I were to defer the booking..

I have had bad experience with Travelocity in the past and would against taking your business to them..
