CIA and Torture

I have been lately reading more and more torture memos and am getting sick of the tactics used by CIA.

Here are some snippets:

#1:

WASHINGTON – A year after the Bush administration abandoned its harshest interrogation methods, CIA operatives used severe sleep deprivation tactics against a terror detainee in late 2007, keeping him awake for six straight days with permission from government lawyers.

#2:
CIA Threatened To Kill Suspect's Children
In this image from the CIA, the cover of a special review released Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, of a newly declassified CIA document describes how interrogators threatened to kill the children of one Sept. 11 suspect and may have threatened to sexually assault the mother of another detainee.

Thoughts:
If CIA is allowed to 'torture' people in the name of gathering intelligence, I suspect other countries will also use and extend the use of torture on American captives to extract the same 'worthless' confession that's given under duress.

Before anyone tries to comment on these stories, do the following:-
1. try to stay awake for 6 straight days and then leave your comment(s)
